Csaba Mező

My name is Csaba Mező, and I am the mayor of Selyeb. I was born on 30 June 1975 in Szikszó. I live in Selyeb with my three sons, and I have had close ties to the village since childhood. I attended primary school here before continuing my studies in Miskolc, after which I began working as a plumber. Throughout my career, I have met a wide variety of people and encountered many different life situations, which have had a significant influence on my thinking about communities and our responsibility towards one another.
My collaboration with the local council began in 2010, and since 2014, I have served the community of Selyeb as a local councillor. Over the years, my determination to take on greater responsibility for the future of the village has grown ever stronger. As a result, I stood as a mayoral candidate in the 2024 local elections and, thanks to the trust placed in me by the people of Selyeb, was elected mayor.
In my work, I always pay particular attention to supporting people in difficult circumstances and those in need. As mayor, my aim is to make Selyeb an increasingly beautiful, safe and liveable place, a community where people are proud to live and where everyone feels that they matter.
I believe that the strength of a village lies above all in its close-knit community. That is why I believe it is important that the people who live here should not merely be residents, but active participants in the life of Selyeb. I would like to strengthen community solidarity so that, together, we can do even more for our village.
