Luisa Borini
ITALY
My name is Luisa, and as a child I used to call myself Asiul—my name spelled backwards. When I was little, I told everyone that my mother was Federica Panicucci. I’m still not sure why, but maybe one day I’ll find out.
I was born on December 16, 1989, in Umbria—the wild and green Umbria. But I’m from Terni, a gray and rugged industrial city.
At eighteen, I moved to Rome to study Modern Literature with a focus on theater at La Sapienza University, graduating with a thesis in playwriting titled “The Narrative Playwriting of Ascanio Celestini.”
In June 2013, I completed my acting diploma at the Alessandra Galante Garrone School of Theater in Bologna.
I’ve always loved listening.
To made-up and true stories, to adults chatting and telling tales.
I have a deep love for memory, memorization, family trees, and “other people’s lives”—for invented words and carefully chosen ones, for punctuation and for smells, for roots and for harbors, airports, and train stations.
