A strange weather alert announces the arrival of a gigantic wave of scepticism over Italy. As meaning gradually begins to disappear from everyday life, uncertainty spreads throughout the country, threatening to plunge everything into chaos and disillusionment. Meanwhile, a young couple in the middle of a relationship crisis starts questioning the very meaning of being together.
Come As If Nothing Happened is a darkly comic monologue exploring precarity, neoliberalism, the end of certainties and the pervasive feeling of inadequacy that characterises contemporary life. Blending existential reflections with elements of fantasy and tragicomedy, Davide Grillo creates a sceptical fable about the loss of meaning and our collective search for happiness.
Through irony and imagination, the performance transforms depression into a kind of climate phenomenon, offering a sharp and poignant portrait of a generation struggling with uncertainty and the absurdity of modern existence.
