Pavel Kubaník

Pavel Kubaník teaches at Charles University in Prague but lives more than 300 km away from the Czech capital in Chvalčov. He is one of a group of friends who have decided to give a new breath to the cultural life of their region and formed Kulturák (which means House of Culture in colloquial Czech). In 2023 Kulturák (est. 2019) organized over 30 cultural events – film screenings (see left part of the panoramatic photo), public readings, theatre performances, concerts, and happenings. Kulturák – a cultural troup below the Hostýn hill, is a member of the Czech Cultural Network Nová síť.
