SPARSE plus is excited to invite you to its international symposium in the vibrant city of Prague, taking place on 8–9 October 2025.
Organized by SPARSE Plus in collaboration with Nová síť, the symposium offers an opportunity to reflect, inspire and exchange at the intersection of arts in rural areas, international collaboration, and cultural policy. It provides a crucial platform for voices from diverse corners of Europe to come together, share perspectives, provoke dialogue, and co-create ideas for the future of performing arts in rural areas.
The event promises an engaging programme of talks, panel discussions, and networking opportunities aimed at strengthening cross-border collaboration and supporting the growth of rural-based creative projects. Whether you’re an artist, cultural producer, policymaker, or researcher with an interest in rural arts and community-led cultural practice, the SPARSE+ Symposium 2025 is an essential meeting point to exchange knowledge, build partnerships, and imagine new possibilities for the European performing arts scene.
On 8 October, the event will be open to the public, welcoming artists, cultural professionals, policymakers, and community organizers from across Europe. Through inspiring keynote talks, panel discussions, and workshops, the symposium will explore how the performing arts can thrive in rural and peripheral areas, showcasing innovative touring models and community engagement strategies.
Please note that the programme on 9 October will be dedicated exclusively to SPARSE project operators and partners, providing space for focused exchange and collaboration within the network.
