Cehu Silvaniei / Szilágycseh

ROMANIA
Cehu Silvaniei is a town in Romania, in Sălaj county, 31 km north-northeast of Zalău. The landscape is bordered to the east by a range of slightly lower hills, which rise to an altitude of 300 metres as you move south-east. On this promontory stands Cehu Castle, that was first mentioned in history in 1319. The town is popular mainly for its woodworking facilities, but also has some sewing shops. Agriculture and farming are still very important in the town. The southern slopes of the hilly northern part of the town, down to the Sălaj valley, are covered with arable land, wheat, corn, sunflowers, barley, triticale, soybeans and alfalfa. There are also orchards dotting the landscape.
