Netphen-Deuz

The village was first mentioned in documents in 1290 with the name Duce. Deuz is the third largest district in Netphen, which has developed along the Sieg. The Werthenbach flows into the Sieg in Deuz. The nema Deuz refers to the „meeting“ of the two rivers, which in dialect means „to meet“. The area is an infrastructural and transport hub.
The Qulturwerkstatt e.V. (non-profit organisation) runs the Q in Netphen-Deuz, a socio-cultural venue in a former carpentry workshop in Netphen-Deuz where a wide variety of cultural programmes for all age groups takes place. There are regular groups that meet here e.g. a intergenerational theatre group. The Qulturwerkstatt also initiates participation-orientated projects with professional artists together with the people of Deuz.
